This Tuesday is my 25th birthday.
I have always hated my birthday, because of how disgusting this time of year is. February is right at the home stretch of winter when most people feel the winter blues. February is also the month when everything in every store is mushy gushy Valentine's themed... ew.
Luckily, my new married life with Jacob Bleacher has truly turned around my perception of February. It's really amazing to have a partner who knows exactly how to make you happy.

Last week, Jake kept telling me that he wanted to take me to one of my favorite brunch places, Commonwealth on Queen, for my birthday.
Of course, because Jake and I are homebodies, I was trying so hard to talk him out of a chilly Saturday outing.
But the man was persistent and told me we had reservations, so we had to go.
Jake opened the door of the restaurant for me and I immediately saw my beautiful best friend from college!!
The immediate jolt of happiness and excitement caused tears to swell up in my eyes.
Jake and Savannah got me good.
__________
You know when you find a friend who just gets it? That's Savannah to me.
We just picked up where we left off and got to chatting about everything in our lives.
I told her about how Jake and I are moving up in our jobs and finally just got reliable cars for the first time in our lives.
She told me how she and her husband just moved to a brand new apartment in what sounds like the cutest little village in PA (Peddler's Village.) She is also working on Grad School to become a teacher, so send some well wishes her way!
There really is a true joy in knowing that the people you love are filled with happiness and success, especially amid the major ups and downs of your early twenties.
When Savannah and I met for the first time and became roommates in college, we were both trying to figure out what we wanted to do and how to live on our own. We've been there for each other through struggles with school, jobs, and relationships.
So it was all the more exciting and uplifting to share our successes with each other.
Savannah also gave me a little homemade gift of jams and spices.
She is a lovely cook and baker, so I can't wait to try these treats!
I believe the jams are strawberry and blueberry and the spices are taco seasoning and pizza seasoning. YUM!

Although I still have a few more days until my actual birthday, I really feel like this year is going to be the best one yet.
I feel like Jake and I are on a solid path to a comfortable and happy life. I feel like I am personally in a great headspace right now; maybe all of that teen angst has finally disappeared!
My goal for this next year of my life is to strengthen those old friendships, grow the more recent ones, and have fun meeting new friends.
Jake and I really dedicated the last year to creating a new life together after marriage.
But now it feels like the right time to grow in our relationships with others and build more community around us.
That's really what keeps us truly happy, right?
So here's to 25!
I hope to make it a good one,
