Behold, the greatest combination of crunchy taco and soft shell taco sure to take Taco Tuesdays to the next level. The Crunchwrap Supreme.
My husband introduced this famous Taco Bell dish to our home kitchen and I haven't stopped begging for it since. Crunchwraps are surprisingly easy to make and of course they tastes a million times better homemade than from the drive thru.
Ingredients:
- Ground beef or chicken
- Taco seasoning
- Lettuce
- Diced tomatoes
- Avocado (optional)
- Diced onions
- Soft tortillas
- Flat crunchy corn tortillas (these probably have a real name)
- Salsa
- Queso
- Sour cream
1. Cook the meat - Cook with onions and throw in one of those little taco seasoning packets. Or you could get a recipe from the internet; whatever suites you!
2. Cut up the veggies - Lettuce and tomatoes. Add avocados if you want.
3. Place a crunchy corn tortilla on top of the soft shell tortilla. Cut (trace) around the crunchy tortilla to create a soft tortilla equal in size. Now you should have two equal circles.
4. Take another soft tortilla and spread queso in the center. Place a small amount of meat and salsa on top of the queso.
5. Place the hard shell on top of the meat and salsa. Add sour cream, lettuce, and tomato on top of the hard shell.
6. Now is when you top it off with the soft shell circle.
7. Fold the base tortilla up over everything to create that signature Crunchwrap look and cook it in a pan until it looks like the Crunchwraps below.
These things taste amazing and are definitely healthier than the real Tacobell. The only negative aspect to this delicious meal is that you really can't reheat it or it loses its crunch.
Try it for yourself! I promise you'll be making them all the time.
