Jake's Beer Bread

Updated: Jan 7, 2020

Over the holidays, Jake makes the most amazing beer bread. This year, we've been baking it and wrapping it up with gifts. This recipe is kind of rustic and super easy!

Ingredients:

3 Cups - Flour Sifted

1/4 Cups - Sugar

3 tsp - Baking Powder

1 tsp - Salt

1 Can of Beer (Yuengling preferably)

1/2 - 1 Stick of Butter

__________________________________________________________________________________

1. Preheat oven to 375°F

2. Mix dry and wet ingredients and add to a greased loaf pan

3. Melt 1/2 - 1 whole stick of butter and pour over top of mixture

4. Bake in oven for an hour and let sit 15 minutes to cool

When you mix the ingredients together, it should initially be bubbly. Then the mixture should form a sticky ball of dough. If it seems too sticky, add a little more flour.

The stick of butter on top helps form a crunchy crust in the end, which is what gives the bread its rustic look and buttery taste.

I would also recommend using a glass loaf pan. I love using glass pans for baking just because dense bakes, like banana bread or beer bread, are less likely to stick to the sides of the pan.

We've tried a few different beers with this recipe and Yuengling definitely gives it the most flavor.

Let me know if there are any other good beers to try with this recipe!

This bread is perfect for soups and stews over the winter months. It is also great for those weird people who don't enjoy sweets, but want to indulge. This beer bread is definitely comfort food.

I hope you guys enjoy this super simple recipe! Let me know how yours turns out!
