Sunday || 12.2.18

This time of year is normally not something for me to cheer about. I'm usually snotty, chilly, and kind of squishy from not leaving my house...

But this year is so different! I wanted to pop in to share a little peek inside my house and remind you why December 2018 is something to celebrate!

I want to lift your spirits with some Christmasy feels and December releases to perhaps distract from the fact that 2018 has been a dumpster fire.

If you are anything like me, you put up the Christmas decorations ASAP to detract from the gray skies and the sun setting at 4pm.

The twinkling Christmas lights probably give you such cozy vibes that you feel the need to layer yourself in three blankets and watch feel good movies.

Released a couple days ago, the video is now at 72 million views and that is because it is a literal work of art. Move over, Santa! Ari is taking the spotlight and that sh*t's amazing.

Not only is December delivering some great music, there are some incredible movies coming out this month (or are already out!)

Mary Poppins Returns is coming out December 21st and I'm not kidding when I say that the trailer made me cry in theaters. It's just that magical looking.

Jake and I are personally super pumped for Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse as it provides a unique super hero plot with a cool art style. And seriously, thank god we are focusing on Miles Morales this time!

Finally, I know this came out in November, but Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald is a huge event for all Potterheads. What did you guys think of the movie? Is Grindelwald telling Credence the truth? WHO IS CREDENCE REALLY???! Seriously, I'm obsessed and would love to discuss.

The holidays are about family time and for my little family that means cuddling on the couch and and playing video games. I realize not everyone can relate to that but for the few who do, here are some video games I'm super excited about.

Spyro: Reignited Trilogy: This games was released in November for XBox One and Playstation 4. Spyro brings up so much nostalgia for me, so this game is amazing. This game literally remastered and combined all three of the old Spyro games using the same controls and everything that you remember from before. I love it. Spyro is kind of like Christmas; it's childish and imaginative, but really for all ages.

Super Smash Bros Ultimate: Another fun fact about me: I freaking love Super Smash Bros! Jake and I went out on Black Friday for a Nintendo Switch almost solely to get this game, coming out December 7th. Ultimate will be the same fighting game we all grew up with, but this time it includes more Nintendo characters than ever before! Here is the full list.

Animal Crossing for the Switch: The gaming world just got news that Nintendo is set to release Animal Crossing for the Switch sometime next year. I know that is not this month and it might not be until December 2019, but I am so pumped! Yes, this game might be childish and a game about nothing, but you just play this game for 10 minutes and you'll get hooked. It is like a kawaii, less stressful version of the Sims.

Sorry if you are not interested in movies, video games, or Ariana Grande for some reason. For me, these things take me back to more imaginative days before I had a full time job and responsibilities.

New and nostalgic games take me back to my childhood and teen years, specifically staying up at sleep overs playing Spyro until 4am or taking a break from fighting with my siblings to bond with them over a game instead.

Taking a break from chaos is really what the holidays are about for me.

All I want this season is to plop down on the couch with my kitty and a gallon of hot cocoa to play a kid's game, relax, and forget about student loans and car payments for a second.

Happy Holidays, everybody!
